The unit is designed to stand vertically on it's integrated stand, which limits the places where it can be stored on your desk. After about 3 months I started to find corruptions in the images that were stored and problems reading from the disc for certain folders and files. I've had this drive for less than a year and have now bought a Buffalo Drive to back up the data on this backup drive. If you cannot trust it to perform then it's not worth buying.

Have been using this for almost a good few months and has never given me any problems. Decent transfer rate between pc and hard drive and doesnt look too bad sitting on the desk either!

Customer rating: 4 out of 5 stars Wrong adaptor

Just recieved mine with no UK adaptor so they are picking the hard drive up and sending me a replacement.
Why they just cant send me a adaptor and save all this bother is beyond me.

500gb and 7200rpm makes for both a decent sized aswel as a glitch free/quick product that lets you back up all forms of data. I dont have mine connected at all times simply to relieve a USB port, but when it is connected, it is small enuf in dimentions not to take up huge amounts of room, does not add ambient scratch noises (as my other ext HD does) and the yellow strip you see in the picture pulses a golden glow - makes for a nice sight too! Personally, the biggest bonus is the 5 year warranty... all for this price? Quality AND a bargain!

Easy to set up, just plugged in the power supply to the mains & usb cable ( both supplied ) to my pc and it works without any need to install software or any messing about (Windows XP).
I have had it for about 6 months now without any problems & it stays very cool compaired to my previous external HDD which was hot to the touch. The colour of the unit is a very dark chocolate brown.
The only things worth pointing out that the footbed / base shown in the picture is built into the main unit, so its not removable should you have wanted to store it horizontal instead of vertical. The unit has no on/off switch like some, so it will stay on unless you turn off your PC or unplug it from the mains. It does however go to "sleep" when it has not been used for some time, and take around 10 seconds or so to "wake up" if accessed from "sleep".
The only real gripe is that mine came with 470 GB, not 500 as stated, but I do find this common with Hard Drives. Good over all.

Have had this hard drive for over 6 months now and it works like a dream. No issues on initial install - and no issues despite accessing and writing to it virtually every day (as a backup library.) Would recommend to anyone.
It even looks quite sexy - if these sorts of things float your boat that is...

Customer rating: 5 out of 5 stars Works with PS3

Bought this recently to increase my PS3s memory, wasnt really interested in an internal one as the price difference just didnt justify it. Had no problem reformatting to FAT32 and works a charm on my PS3. Great buy.
