It isnt a hendrix family release,as i have all the official albums as well as several other cd's with recordings from studio sessions and live rarities,although they arent as good as albums like electric ladyland,are you expierenced etc they give an insight to his work

I feed bad for jimi ! Fantastic music legend and this cd does not do him justice ! Would not recommend this cd in anyway shape or form.

I Bought this album because there was one song on there that I didn't know and I was giving it to a friend to get an idea of what he's like...Yes its true someone didn't know Jimi hendrix!!

However in listening to the album it is yet again the Hendrix empire selling another valueless CD of poorly recorded songs just to make another buck...

Any true fan of Jimi hendrix who wants to hear him properly should be venturing into buying albums like Electric Ladyland or South Saturn delta etc... for a more groovy sound than just the typical "All along the watch tower" sound.

In conclusion this album does little for Jimi as the REAL albums should be bought and nothing else because it is the only safe thing to do. And with CD prices falling all the time why not??

I'm afraid I have to agree with the other reviews, not really worth buying - even for just £1.99 If I were you I'd fork out a little extra cash and go for something like "Are You Experienced" That said, if you're not too fussed about the occasional squeal on the tracks this is a reasonable buy and you still get some great Hendrix tunes. One thing they don't seem to mention is that quite a few of the tracks are live (if you listen you can hear cheering, etc) which may be a plus or a minus depending on what you want!!

Jimi is a legend one of the best gutarists ever, the songs on this cd are amazing, but it is the sound quality which lets it down. Even though its only £1.99 i would recommend you buy a different |hendrix album that'll do him the justice this legend deserves.

Bad quality and out of tune demos. Not worth the money.

i love hendrix as much as the next guitar god wannabe the was a true wizard with his tools, changing guitar forever. his legacy however doesn't feel captured in this particular CD (at all). but hey, different generation of recording tech.

i wouldn't recommend headphones, my ear drums recieved some beating on a number of tracks from various feedbacks.

the quaility is just about listenable it is a double disc of the great mans music which is worth a lot more than £1.99 even with live sound horrors.

but regardless to his status and the price it would be wrong of me to say this is worth everypenny, you can't complain it £2 yet, it doesn't hold up against many many remastered CDs of Jimi, i'd suggest paying the extra and enjoying it, rather than being content with this miserable recording.

yes its only £2 but i dont expect cd1 to have cd's2 music on it and vice versa which means i get a different track name to whats playing.the sound quality also totally sucks.tbh i cant see me ever using these cd's again,instead im going to buy a digitally remastered cd of the great man himself and if your thinking your getting a bargin with this cd,think again,you have been warned......................
