This product, in my opinion, is a great idea to expand the playstation 3 range and offer a different type of thing to just games.

I bought this item around 4 months ago to find an alternative to sky+ and not cost as much as freeview+. I have been very impressed. I use my playstation 3 often, and it is great to be able to record programs when i get to urge to both play a game and watch the tv.

When i first started this up it looked very sleek and proffessional, took a little while to find the set up options and actually start the tuning process but when the programs came, the quality was just as good as any other freeview box.

Unfortunately, for me in particular, i live in an area where i struggle to recieve BBC programs except BBC 4 which isn't really my cup of tea. Therefore, it suffers the same signal problems as freeview which just annoys me, but thats not play tv's fault.

Unfortunately also the ps3 needs to be on standby and i usually turn it off when i go to bed, its not a problem for me but the environmental conscious people should be aware

The other problems i had were a) that i need free space on my PS3 Hard drive, which is only 40gb and b) they do not tell you that u can move your saved programs to a video setting and put them on your external hard drive from there which i purchased to try and give me some more space. This would have been helpful as i stumbled on it eventually by chance

Therefore this PlayTV is great for people who have a ps3 and want to use it for TV as well, and get the most out of it. It has several good parts to it and for 50quid you can't go wrong as normal freeview+ players are over 100
